Giving Garden

About the Giving Garden

The Giving Garden is here to grow fruits and vegetables for neighborhood shelters, food banks and other organizations in need of healthy, organic produce. The UpGarden Giving Garden launched in July 2012 and is one of the almost 80 P-Patch Giving Gardens in the Seattle area that grew and donated over 30,000 pounds last year to the community in need. “We grow to give” is our motto!

The UpGarden Giving Garden team consists of 12 collaborative gardeners, dedicated to grow healthy food while learning gardening skills and meeting great people along the journey. Our 2013 goal is to grow and donate 1,000 pounds through grown produce from the Giving Garden as well as donated produce from other UpGarden gardeners. Here's how you can get involved!

2013 Goals Summary

  • Total UpGarden Goal = 1,000 pounds
  • Giving Garden Goal = 800 pounds
  • UpGarden Fellow Gardeners Gleaning Goal = 200 pounds
  • Giving Garden Volunteer Goal = 20+ active volunteers
